Elliot Bay
By Colleen Lynn
The seawall has secret pennies in its wheels!
My sister and I try to pry them out
Mom tugs us along

I lose my hat--stolen by the salty wind
We play airplane down the dock to save it
Mom tugs us along

The sight of pink cotton candy makes us beg
We're having lunch with the birds, she says
We leapfrog along

I fling my French Fries high into the sky
Giant seagulls swoop and gobble them up
I leave still hungry

Then we bounce to the place with lots of books,
On most Sundays when I was young
