Thank You Letter :: Colleen Lynn

by colleen lynn.

Dear Colleen Lynn,
My friend recommended your site after my attack. It meant so much to me that someone was doing something to enlighten the public about this menace. Now I am approaching the one year anniversary of my own attack. Though my injuries have healed, the inner scars remain deep. I still walk, but I don’t get the same enjoyment out of it. I carry a golf club and tell everyone I see walking, pushing a stroller, or walking a small dog to take heed. I have been successful in getting two of these dogs removed from rental properties once I notify the landlords of their liabilities.
I am so proud of you for standing up bravely against the pro-pit bull people. I will continue to follow your site and support you 100%. I am so grateful for all that you do. You give comfort and compassion to many Colleen. Good for you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. – Katherine, Ohio

Thank You Letter :: Colleen Lynn

Dear Colleen Lynn,
Thank you for this site. I hope more people will read it and make wiser decisions about what kind of animals they choose to make a part of their families. Knowing what I know about how unreasonable people get when it comes to their pets, I can TOTALLY believe that you get hate mail. Don’t let it get you down! You’re doing the community a service. I love most dogs, but ever since one bit my face I am uncomfortable around them, especially when they jump up on me or get near my face. Dogs, which were once a source of joy for me, now scare me a little. People laugh at me when I get nervous around them, which makes me feel stupid and weak, like I’m the one with the problem. Your site makes me feel like I’m not alone.
Thanks again for publishing the truth about what certain dogs are capable of. Don’t let the haters get you down! – Jamie, Texas

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this website. MAGNIFICENT EYE-OPENER REALLY. And to the founder of dogsbite.org, Colleen, THANK YOU SO MUCH. You are so brave for doing this. THANK YOU. Someone needed to take a first step and you did so. And in a beautiful manner. THANK YOU. May your horrifying experience and consequent actions save many lives. You’ve probably saved many lives already. Thank you! – Pedro, Portugal

Barbara Kay :: Brilliance and Courage

by colleen lynn.

Courageous writer Barbara Kay of the National Post calls out the pit bull lobby:

The petition against Ms. Biniaz is not a spontaneous phenomenon, but the fruit of a well-oiled, extremely well-funded propaganda campaign by the pit bull advocacy movement (PBAM). The PBAM is wedded to the fiction that the pit bull, sadly victimized by a biased press, is a gentle, affectionate, child-loving dog. They are — until suddenly they aren’t. And nobody knows when or why they will strike with their rending, crocodile teeth and implacable to-the-death grip, except that the answer lies in their genes. The pit bull is a genetically manufactured ambulatory grenade and deserves every bit of condemnation it receives. The PBAM is a powerful lobby group that has successfully coerced complicity in the propagation of pit bull myths from kennel clubs and humane societies, and shamefully misled gullible media. Ms. Biniaz is the best thing to happen for public education about pit bulls in a long time – Barbara Kay

Thank you Colleen … After my child’s attack, your website was the first one that comforted me, because I saw I wasn’t only in wondering why, so many why’s … I try to follow in your groundbreaking footsteps, and advocate for victims, thank you for your bravery and continued hard work. – Anne King

Colleen Lynn is a leader. Nobody wants to lead through an event like a mauling, but Colleen has stepped into a leadership role with great bravery in order to help others. She has provided education to the public, which has been desperately needed on this issue. I can say without question as the victim of a mauling by two pit bulls Colleen Lynn has done more good than she will ever know … Many thanks Colleen. – Watcher
